At seven pounds 8 ounces, 19.5 inches long, Logan David Evans proves our biggest baby, even though he came three weeks early. His arrival was so unexpected that he almost popped out in the car on the way to the hospital. When Lesli entered the hospital, she was complete and had him within ten minutes. The nurses delivered the baby, inasmuch as the doctor did not have time to get there. One tough woman, Lesli gave birth without anesthesia, despite the fact that she requested an epidural immediately upon arrival. No time for that! The fact that he came early combined with any lack of crying when he first came out scared me quite a bit. However, everything ended up just fine. Both he and mom are doing fine (even though Lesli has to have a root canal today; just one more proof that she is made of nails). We feel blessed to invite him in our home. Now we can refer to him as "he" and "him" instead of "it," or "fetus," or "unborn one." We enjoyed experiencing the surprise of not knowing his gender until birth (even though I peeked during an ultrasound and, therefore, had a pretty good hunch). Anyway, we cannot wait until family can get out to Texas to see us. Too bad we live so far away.

Turner Falls Park Oklahoma 6/2010
We went to the Arbuckle Wilderness about an hour and a half north of us where you can find Oklahoma's Turner Falls Park. We enjoyed hiking to small caves (some with huge daddy long leg-type spiders covering the ceilings), taking in the beautiful Turner Falls, floating the river, playing on the diving board and water slide and exploring the castle. We cannot wait to come back and camp when the temperature is a bit more pleasant.

Spring Break with Kristin, Darcy and clan 3/2010
We enjoyed seeing Kristin, Darcy and the chilluns. We went camping, had fun at Chuck E. Cheese, enjoyed a day of swimming, went out to dinner, saw some interesting animals at the zoo among other things. It was fun to see the cousins interact with one another, and we hope to be able to get together again soon.
