Baby Logan's Birth (6/15/2010)

At seven pounds 8 ounces, 19.5 inches long, Logan David Evans proves our biggest baby, even though he came three weeks early. His arrival was so unexpected that he almost popped out in the car on the way to the hospital. When Lesli entered the hospital, she was complete and had him within ten minutes. The nurses delivered the baby, inasmuch as the doctor did not have time to get there. One tough woman, Lesli gave birth without anesthesia, despite the fact that she requested an epidural immediately upon arrival. No time for that! The fact that he came early combined with any lack of crying when he first came out scared me quite a bit. However, everything ended up just fine. Both he and mom are doing fine (even though Lesli has to have a root canal today; just one more proof that she is made of nails). We feel blessed to invite him in our home. Now we can refer to him as "he" and "him" instead of "it," or "fetus," or "unborn one." We enjoyed experiencing the surprise of not knowing his gender until birth (even though I peeked during an ultrasound and, therefore, had a pretty good hunch). Anyway, we cannot wait until family can get out to Texas to see us. Too bad we live so far away.

He is adorable!! I love his sweet little cheeks. He sure is bigger then the other two were. What a sweetheart. Good job mom and dad! I can't believe you have to go in for a root canal Lesli. That is not fair! Hope it goes ok. One thing for sure it should feel a whole lot better afterwards. :)
The kids have grown a ton since we saw them last. Can't wait to see you all. July is too far away. I should have known you would have that baby early.

So fun! I haven't gotten a chance to catch up on everything you blogged yet, but wanted to know how you went into the future to have your baby (on 7-july/15/2010) and brought him back? Just kidding. Congratulations! Maybe I'll see you this summer? Come visit. Love ya.

I was wondering how Logan was born in July, too. =-) He sure is cute! I wish so bad we could get down there so I could hold him. Maybe one of these days...Congrats! We love you guys!
PS Hope the root canal went well Lesli.

Thanks for catching the date error. I guess it's still hard to get used to the fact that what was going to be a July birth is now a June one.

the man child is most handsome! Who's the harry goat in the backround?

...so i was in the shower a moment ago chuckling to myself about how I called you a goat when it dawned on me that I called Logan a "Man child" which makes no sense! I meant "man cub". Or what about "man-kid"? (as in the goat variety) I'm so clever! ;) putting all kidding aside, Logan looks nothing like his father goat, but like a charming boy! Lesli IS tough as nails and is greatly admired by me.

And I spelled Hairy wrong. Wow, I'm on a roll.

The horseshoe stache is an experiment. Soon, I think I'll try a goatee and start repeating maaa, MAAAAA over and over again in order to exorcise the blobfish in me. Our man cub should turn into a prancing kid in no time.

By the way, I want to warn all of you of one of the defense mechanisms installed on these small, cute ceatures. One second, you find yourself playfully interacting with them, emitting many a cheerful goochy-goo interspersed with other incomprehensible baby blather. The next second the wee tot makes like a spitting cobra, only not from the mouth, rather from the other, nether region. Tis not pleasant, just ask our couch, which bore the brunt of the gooky mess.

You two are weird.
Give my condolences to the couch. All three of our babies had an uncanny ability to emit all over Grandma Laurie!
